Call to participate in BIO Boston 2018, now open
The Spanish pavilion will be shared by all companies, including those from Catalonia, who must manage their participation through ICEX
ICEX has launched its call to participate in the BIO International Convention, the most important partnering event in the international biotechnology sector, held this year at the Boston Convention Exhibitor Center in Boston from June 4 to 7. The call includes two different types of participation, with or without a booth, with savings of €150 to €200 off official ticket prices.
The participation model is different this year and the ICEX pavilion (booth number 543) will be shared by all Spanish companies, regardless of the bioregion they belong to. So, this year Catalan companies interested in participating in the fair, with or without a booth, must manage their presence directly through ICEX. Biocat will attend the fair and raise awareness of the Catalan presence in Boston, but it will not coordinate the delegation or act as an intermediary with ICEX.
The deadline for companies interested in participating in the convention to submit their application is February 15, 2018. Applications must be submitted online through the ICEX platform (Note: to use the platform you must create a username and password for the company first. If you have any questions or problems, call 900-349-000).
Two ways to participate
As in recent years, ICEX is offering two ways to participate and both include the Convention Access & Partnering ticket. This is the most complete option, with access to the partnering system and meetings in the Business Forum, as well as all of the activities on the program. So, as in recent years, there will not be any partnering activities at the pavilion. They will be held in the Business Forum area. Both options give companies the choice to purchase one or two partnering tickets.
Participation option 1 includes a booth in the Spanish pavilion, one or two Convention Access & Partnering tickets (the most complete, with access to the partnering system and the full program), one exhibitor ticket (Exhibitor Booth Personnel, which includes access to the fairgrounds but not the partnering system), exposure in the ICEX communication packet (catalog, press release, MyBIO app, blog, specific mini-site for the technical event beforehand, among others) and one invitation and access to the “Spain kicks off BIO” technical event.
The general price for option 1 is €3,255 with one partnering ticket or €5,355 with two partnering tickets. For companies attending the fair for the first time, the price is €2,620 with one partnering ticket or €4,615 with two. For companies that have attended more than five times, the price is €3,780 with one partnering ticket or €5,880 with two. These prices are before the 10% VAT.
Participation option 2 (without a booth) includes one Convention Access & Partnering ticket and exposure in the ICEX communication packet. The general price for this option is €2,100 with one partnering ticket or €4,200 with two. For companies attending the fair for the first time, the price is €1,995 with one partnering ticket or €3,990 with two. These prices are before the 10% VAT.
The most recent edition of this fair –held in San Diego with 30 Catalan companies and organizations– brought together more than 16,000 delegates from 74 countries and hosted over 41,000 partnering meetings. So, BIO is a great opportunity to gain access to the top executives and decision-makers attending the convention and discover new stakeholders in the industry, forge collaborations and assess emerging technology.
