Argentina Mission 2024

Biocat, with the support of the Department of Foreign Affairs and the help of the CAB (Argentine Chamber of Biotechnology), is organizing a mission to Argentina from November 24 to 29 to explore this new ecosystem and establish it as the gateway to all of Latin America. The mission will explore the three main innovation hubs of the Argentine ecosystem: Buenos Aires, Mar del Plata, where BioArgentina 2024 will take place, and Rosario, a city with a major innovation hub and a pioneer in the country.

What is the objective of the mission?

The objective of this mission is to increase opportunities for Catalan companies and entities in the health innovation sector in Latin America and establish new partnerships. In the three cities explored, the following activities will take place:

• Buenos Aires, will be the strategic point for international meetings, positioning Argentina as the gateway to all of Latin America, with meetings not only with local leaders but also with other stakeholders from the Southern Cone.
• Mar del Plata, in this coastal city, BioArgentina 2024 will take place, a day organized by the Argentine Chamber of Biotechnology (CAB). BioArgentina 2024 is the event where researchers, entrepreneurs, startups, leading industrial companies, and the public sector connect effectively. This year, Biocat is coordinating with the CAB, and the Catalan delegation will have special mentions and partnering sessions. In the previous edition, BioArgentina 2023 brought together more than 800 people from different countries, including businesspeople, investors, researchers, entrepreneurs, officials, and biotechnology students. There will be personalized partnering sessions with key agents in the sector.
• Rosario, this city has been the country’s leading hub, where major institutions, programs, and research align to bring forth the cutting-edge innovation in Argentina, a focal point for the entire Southern Cone. Visits and meetings will take place here with leading companies and stakeholders in innovation.
