Presentation of PRECISEU at the Palace of the Government of Catalonia
The project PRECISEU, which stands for PeRsonalised medicine Empowerment Connecting Innovation ecoSystems across EUrope, is a project funded by the European Commission's Horizon Europe programme. Its aim is to accelerate the adoption of personalized medicine in Europe.Among its main actions, the project will focus on speeding up the adoption of personalized medicine in Member States, with a particular emphasis on the use of health data and the acceleration of advanced therapies.
Biocat, the public-private foundation that promotes the growth and international positioning of the life sciences and health ecosystem in Catalonia, leads a consortium consisting of 25 partners from 12 European regions across 10 Member States (Spain, Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria, Romania, Italy, Lithuania, Sweden, Netherlands, and Greece), and one associated country to the Horizon Europe programme (Ukraine).
The consortium includes regional authorities, clusters, a European Research Infrastructure Consortium, global pharmaceutical companies, patient organizations, and European Digital Innovation Hubs. Catalan participation is highlighted through Biocat, the Department of Health, ACCIÓ (Agency for Business Competitiveness), the Barcelona Supercomputing Center - National Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS), and AstraZeneca, a recently established company in Catalonia.
The project has a budget of 23 million euros and will run for five years, until June 30, 2029.
