The trifermed awards ceremony takes place in Barcelona, hosting more than 300 guests representing the local health ecosystem.

 

The founder

Sergi Trilla, M.D., M.B.A., is the founder of the trifermed awards and currently serves as the Chief Business Officer at Veru, a biopharmaceutical company at the forefront of novel treatments for ARDS-related illnesses and various cancers. With over 30 years of experience in healthcare, Dr. Trilla plays a pivotal role in shaping corporate strategy and forging impactful partnerships, both at Veru and in the broader healthcare ecosystem. Before his current role, Dr. Trilla founded trifermed in 2002, a business service provider specializing in corporate strategy and business development in health. Under his leadership, trifermed has successfully forged over 180 partnerships in both human and animal health sectors. Although he has transitioned to Founder & Chairman, Dr. Trilla continues to offer strategic counsel. In addition to his corporate roles, Dr. Trilla serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Forsyth Institute in Cambridge, MA, and is an Ambassador for the Children's Oncology Foundation. His academic and philanthropic work focuses on translational medicine, bridging the gap between innovation and patient care.

Founded in 2015, the trifermed awards are a testament to Dr. Trilla's commitment to recognizing individuals and organizations that are driven by passion and emotion to improve healthcare quality and societal well-being. The awards celebrate those who share the common goal of creating a better world through healthcare innovation.
