Applications are now being accepted for the 10th edition of the research internship Spend the Summer at the Park!, which will enable nearly 40 undergraduates to do research this summer in labs from various institutes and companies located at the Barcelona Science Park (PCB).
The program, aimed at both Spanish and foreign undergraduates, aims to familiarize students with the world of research. The application deadline is 12 April. Participants will be able to work on projects in biomedicine, biotechnology or chemistry for 2 to 3 months (between July and September). They will receive a monthly stipend for their work, and foreign students can receive additional funding to cover housing expenses. Lastly, the most successful students will be awarded extra money.
Since its inception, Spend the Summer at the Park! has received over 600 applications, from which nearly 275 students have been accepted. Surveys indicate that participating students and research advisors have been happy with the program. In fact, after completing their internship many students retain close ties with their research group.
