Over the next three years, Biocat and Caixa Capital Risc will carry out a number of projects to support the start up of new companies in the life sciences field, identify new private investors –foreseeing that Caixa Capital Risc will be able to participate in co-investment operations– and attract international investors.

Additionally, Caixa Capital Risc will support Catalonia’s bid to become a European Innovation and Technology Institute (IET) KIC (Knowledge Innovation Community) in life sciences.

CEO of Biocat, Montserrat Vendrell, and the head of investment at Caixa Capital Risc, Carles Trenchs, have signed an agreement to lay the foundations of this collaboration.

Although Caixa Capital Risc does invest in new start-ups in a number of sectors, they have focused on the first stages (seed and growth) for technology-based companies in the life sciences and information technology (ICT) fields. These two organizations have collaborated before on other projects, like BioEmprenedorXXI, which is currently underway, with additional entities.
