Biocat and European Diagnostic Clusters Alliance collaborate on top European diagnostics event
The EIC 2012 will be held in Montpellier on 5 and 6 July. Two Catalan biotech firms will play an important role: Oryzon, on the scientific committee, and Biokit, in the program of debates.

The Euromediag International Convention (EIC 2012), held on 5 and 6 July 2012 in Montpellier (France), will bring together the main European stakeholders in biomedical research in the field of diagnostics, both from industry and research centers, in order to seek out new paths and alliances to push personalized medicine forward.
The convention, promoted by the French biocluster EuroMeDiag, has received collaboration from Biocat and the European Diagnostic Clusters Alliance (EDCA), of which Biocat is a founding member. Catalan biotech firm Oryzon Genomics is on the EIC 2012 scientific committee.
The EIC 2012 is divided into:
- B2B meetings
- A program of debates
- Company presentations
- Technological showcase presentations from the Advanced Biotech Cluster platforms for Europe (ABCEurope). Carlos Lurigados, project director in Biocat’s Innovation Department, will be on the panel of judges along with representatives from other European organizations.
Highlights on the program include the roundtable IVD regulatory international landscape: how to face next challenges? Organized by the EDCA and Biocat, featuring Alexander Natz, secretary general of the European Confederation of Pharmaceutical Entrepreneurs (EUCOPE); Loïc Kubitza and Aditya Yellepeddi, director and senior advisor to the Life Sciences & Healthcare team at PwC Luxembourg; Joan Guixer, Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs director at Biokit, and John Burling, director of Regulatory Affairs at Roche Diagnostics (United Kingdom).
Catalan companies interested in participating are eligible for discounts of up to 40%. The discounted prices are as follows:
