Continuing with the efforts initiated in 2009 in the medical technology field and with the aim of meeting needs identified in the strategic plan for this sector, Biocat and the Spanish Federation of Healthcare Technology Companies (Fenin) will hold a medical technology advisory program entitled The regulatory labyrinth: what to ask experts on 10 and 26 November in Barcelona.

This projects aims to provide answers to participants’ questions on the key elements of the current regulatory framework, which is essential to the growth of techmed companies and organizations and will allow them to incorporate the most suitable strategy in their business project.

The program is aimed at young medical technology companies and research and technology centers that are interested in this topic.

The program will include three work sessions:

  • 10 November 2010. Plenary session led by Ms. Maria Aláez, technical director of Fenin. Open question session, which will be collected and analyzed to be used in the second session:
    • Accessible sources of information on current legislation.
    • Upcoming legislative changes and their impact on the sector.
    • EC homologation processes and costs.
    • Launching new products to market.
    • 26 November 2010: plenary session to answer questions from the session held 10 November. Speakers will be chosen according to the topics to be discussed. Date to be confirmed.
    • Personalized technical advisory sessions for 10 young companies (created from 2008) that are interested in finding answers to specific topics related to the medical technology regulatory framework. Date and location to be confirmed.
