The training programme Biocàpsules, organized by Biocat, will be given for second year at the Museu Colet of Barcelona between April 15th and October 14th 2010. The main feature which differentiates this training program from others is that it has been specifically designed for professionals of the biotechnological and biomedical sectors in Catalonia. Its objective is to strengthen strategic and transversal knowledge of the different organizations areas where lacks have been detected.

The first of the six sessions, which will take place next April 15th, is Negotiation for biotech managers and will be given by Juan Malaret. Malaret is an internationally recognized authority on negotiation and leadership. He has written best-sellers like Negociación estratégica para directivos de empresa (Strategic negotiation for company managers) and Negociación avanzada de temas empresariales para juristas y directivos (Advanced negotiation of business issues for managers and jurists).

The session will train biotech managers through the learning of basic negotiation in several areas of the business activity and practical case studies. It is structured in five modules and the default duration of the session is 8 hours:

  • Presentation of basic concepts
  • 360º negotiation concept
  • Claiming value
  • Practical case study: negotiation between the company and the academy
  • Personal improvement plan

The other Biocàpsules sessions are:

  • Business development – April 27, 2010
  • Strategic communication – May 19, 2010 or October 14, 2010 - New!
  • Project management – June 6, 2010
  • Strategic management of intellectual property –June 29, 2010

This program offers, apart from training, the opportunity of meeting and exchanging experiences with professionals of the sector through a dynamic and innovative learning system.

The cost of each session is 300 euros. There is 10% saving for companies participating in the five Biocàpsules sessions (1,350 euros). A certificate of assistance will be issued after completing each session.
