As part of the bioXclusters project, Biocat is organizing a trade mission to Brazil in order to scout out the biotechnology sector there and to foster collaboration between Catalan and Brazilian companies. The mission will be from 9 to 14 September 2012 and include visits to various organizations, science and technology parks and companies in the biotech and health sectors in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, where most of this market is concentrated, and to the BioPartnering Latin America fair.

This mission is part of the program of actions that Biocat kicked off in April with a workshop on the Brazilian market featuring President of Biominas (in the State of Minas Gerais) Eduardo E. Soares.

The approximate cost per person is between €2,700 and €3,000, and includes:

  • Flights (the final price will be determined once all participants have been confirmed)
  • Food and accommodations
  • Registration for BioPartnering Latin America (the standard price is €660 but participants in the Biocat mission will received the discounted price of €440)

Transport of those in the Catalan delegation to the various visit sites is subsidized by the bioXclusters project. Additionally, there is a travel grant available from ACC1Ó, which could cover up to approximately €1,100.

If you are interested in joining us on this mission, send an email to cmarti@biocat.cat before 30 June.
