Braingaze gets pre-seed funding to fuel growth
The Barcelona-based company will invest the capital in R&D&i, product development, patent consolidation and app development
Braingaze (The Mind Tracking Company), a startup specializing in eye-tracking software, has raised €336,000 in public and private capital in its first round of funding. The campaign was carried out through crowdfunding company Across Business Partners and law firm Roca Junyet provided advisory services. The capital will mainly be invested in R&D&i, product development, patent expansion, regulatory compliance and expanded clinical trials in Europe and the United States.
The NEOTEC program, which supports the creation and consolidation of technology-based companies in Spain, contributed the public capital raised. Plus, Braingaze founders Laszlo Bax and Hans Supèr have also increased their investment at the same valuation offered to new investors, thus encouraging confidence in their potential for growth.
Braingaze, which is based at Tecnocampus in Mataró, was created in September 2013 as a result of research carried out by the co-founders at the University of Barcelona. This research currently has several different applications in the development phase, ranging from diagnosing Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) to analyzing consumer preferences and moving through videogames. These applications are based on tracking eye movement and what this tells us about how a person processes and uses visual information.
