'Brokerage Event' for Catalan companies at Medica 2012 fair
ACC1Ó will once again accompany businesses that wish to take part in one-to-one interviews with possible European partners at this event.

The 44th edition of Medica, the benchmark fair in healthcare industry and technology in Europe, will be held from 14 to 17 November 2012 in Düsseldorf (Germany). Organizers expect to maintain last year’s high level of participation, with 134,500 visitors —half from abroad— and 4,500 exhibiting companies from 60 countries. "The healthcare market continues to grow. Increasing life expectancy, a growing world population, breakthroughs in medicine and the rise in demand for public healthcare services in emerging countries are benefitting the industry and suppliers of medical products," explained Joachim Schäfer, managing director of Messe Düsseldorf GmbH.
Business people and professionals attending the fair do so not only to stay up-to-date on the latest trends but also to establish business relationships and close deals. After the 2011 edition, United States Assistant Secretary for Trade Promotion Suresh Kumar pointed out that Medica "is a business platform for thousands of small and medium-sized companies, not only for large corporations."
One of the most noteworthy spaces for seeking out technology partners or partners for R&D programs and to explore new business opportunities is the Brokerage Event, where 30-minute one-to-one meetings will be held between companies and organizations from countries in the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN). As in recent years, ACC1Ó —with collaboration from Biocat, the TICSalut foundation and Fenin Catalunya— is organizing Catalan participation in the Brokerage Event, which will be held on 15 and 16 November 2012. An online catalog will be available to participating companies to help them identify potential partners and schedule their agenda of interviews ahead of time.
Who is it geared towards?
The Brokerage Event brings together companies, technology and research centers, and universities and focuses on the following sectors:
- Electromedical equipment and medical technology
- Laboratory equipment
- Emergency and rescue equipment
- Diagnostics
- Physiotherapy
- Orthopedic technology
- Disposable and consumer products
- Information and communication technology
- Medical textiles
- Medical furniture and equipment

Catalan companies interested in participating should send this registration form to ACC1Ó before 2 November 2012. Participation fee is €100 euros (VAT exempt) and doesn’t include entrance to the fair.
