Chemical entrepreneurs of Europe meet at ChemUp
Esade, Sequi and Expoquimia are promoting this initiative to boost entrepreneurial innovation in the field of chemistry
Esade business school, the Spanish Society of Industrial Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (Sequi) and the Expoquimia fair have launched the ChemUp program, a meeting point for researchers from around Europe and companies from the chemistry sector to promote innovative business initiatives. ChemUp will kick off on 2 October 2014 at Expoquimia, the international chemistry fair held at Fira de Barcelona.
All early-stage projects with a high level of technological innovation that can be transferred to market as innovative processes or products and that fall under the lines established for the European Union Horizon 2020 program are welcome to participate.
A panel of judges, made up of experts from a variety of different areas of science and economics as well as representatives from the organizing bodies (Esade, Sequi and Expoquimia), will select 20 projects to participate in a four-month business mentoring acceleration process. Over this time, the projects will be sponsored by companies and institutions through the open innovation format. During this acceleration phase, they will also receive scientific and technological advisory services to help better define and detail their concept, as well as support in developing their business plan.
More information on the rules of participation is available in the ChemUp dossier.
