EBD Group will launch an initiative at BIO-Europe Spring 2014 in Turin (Italy) next March, called the Academic Innovators Presentation Track, to boost participation of researchers from universities, hospitals and research centers in the partnering events they hold around the world. EBD Group is the leader in global life science partnering events, including BIO-Europe, BIO-Europe Spring, BioPharm America and Biotech Showcase, that attract top leaders from the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, as well as investors.
The Academic Innovators Presentation Track was created in response to pharmaceutical companies’ desire to access early-stage and pre-seed innovation. The 9-minute presentations are given by principal researchers presenting preclinical research projects, and by heads of technology transfer offices presenting one or two projects from their portfolio, including details on the type of alliance or investment they are seeking.
“Over the past year, both biotech firms and large pharma companies have imparted to us the importance of having access to preclinical research that is being carried out in the academic arena,” EBD Group Senior Manager Tina Gunnink told Biocat.
More than 20 biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies from Catalonia participated in the latest fall edition of BIO-Europe, from 4 to 6 November in Vienna (Austria).
All those interested in giving a presentation at BIO-Europe Spring 2014 can find more information in this website. Registration is available online or by e-mailing Justine Griego at jgriego@ebdgroup.com before December 13th. Rates range from €895 to €1,390 and include access to the full congress (program sessions, exhibition and evening events), and one-to-one partnering meetings using partneringONE online partnering system, among other services.
EBD Group and Biocat have collaborated in recent years organizing two editions of the BIO-Europe Spring congress in Barcelona (2010 and 2013). Biocat will be present at BIO-Europe 2014 in Turin, which is home to one of the most important innovation clusters in the life sciences in Europe and one of the bioXclusters partners, BioPMed. We’ll keep you up to date.
