The European Commission has opened the call for the Marie Curie Actions fellowships in the intra-European, ingoing and outgoing categories. The deadline for applications is 14 August 2013.

The Marie Curie Actions aim to support the development or professional reintegration of experienced scientists over a two- to four-year period. They are open to researchers of all ages, regardless of nationality, as long as they move from one member state or associated country to another and have either a PhD or minimum of four years of experience.

These are the three Marie Curie Actions currently open and accepting proposals:

  • International outgoing fellowships (IOF): aimed at helping European scientists reinforce the international dimension of their careers, offering them the chance to carry out their research at a top-notch scientific organization in a non-EU country for one or two years. Afterwards, these research fellows will join a body in one of the member states or associated countries for an additional year. Approximate endowment: €44.5 millions.
  • International incoming fellowships (IIF): reinforcing scientific excellence in member states and associated countries through the exchange of knowledge with senior researchers from around the world (outside of the EU) that want to work on research projects in Europe. Approximate endowment: €44.5 millions.
