Tomorrow the Fabra i Coats-Creation Factory will welcome the Brain, music and artificial intelligence science fair organized by the Barcelona Culture Institute through the Barcelona Neuroscience program. Entry is free of charge for the general public.

The fair will present examples of cutting-edge research on the brain/computer interface, on neuronal prosthetics, on neurorehabilitation and on machines capable of moving autonomously. All of these projects are developed by the Synthetic Perceptive, Emotive and Cognitive Systems Research Group (SPECS) at Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), which studies the main neuronal, psychological and behavioral principles behind perception, emotion and cognition. SPECS bases its activities on three focal points: theoretical cognitive neuroscience, biological systems based on the real world, and brain repair technology.

There will also be interactive installations, experimental demonstrations and, to close the event, a lecture entitled Neuroscience and music, by Paul Verschure and Robert Zatorre, which is part of the series The brain invades the city organized by the Spanish Society of Neuroscience and the “la Caixa” Welfare Foundation.

Date: 26 April 2012?
Time: 3:30 to 9 pm ?
