STAT-Diagnostica has named Gérard Vaillant the new chairman of the company’s Board of Directors just weeks after announcing a €17-millions round of funding led by French and German investors.
Vaillant has more than thirty years of senior leadership experience in the medical device and diagnostics sector and was part of the executive team at multinational corporation Johnson & Johnson and its Ortho Clinical Diagnostics division. In addition to presiding over the STAT-Diagnostica Board of Directors, Vaillant currently holds the same position at SafeOrthopaedics and PathoQuest, is on the board at Tecan CH and is a partner at Kurma Life Sciences Partners, the venture capital company that led the latest round of funding.
CEO and co-founder of STAT-Diagnostica, Jordi Carrera, said that it is a privilege to have Gérard Vaillant in the company, as he will be an invaluable component as the company works towards European and US approval and marketing of their innovative diagnostic platform DiagCORE.
STAT-Diagnostica has shown noteworthy growth since it was founded in 2010 in the Barcelona Science Park (PCB). This Catalan company focuses on developing applications to simplify processes and shorten the time to obtain results from current diagnostic systems.
