Catalan business association Cecot has recognized Ignasi Belda, founder and CEO of biotechnology firm Intelligent Pharma, with its ‘Innovation Award’ for 2014.

The founder of Intelligent Pharma, created in 2007 and based in the Barcelona Science Park, received this award from President of the Government of Catalonia Artur Mas, as part of the 20thEntrepreneur Night. “Once again, Intelligent Pharma is being recognized for its vocation and commitment to R&D, which can be seen in its scientific leadership in the field of molecular modeling for the design and optimization of new molecular entities and for our numerous clients in Europe, America and Asia,” said Ignasi Belda.

This biotechnology firm had previously been recognized as one of the most innovative companies in the country, receiving the 2008 BioEmprenedorXXI award —promoted by Barcelona Activa, Biocat and the "la Caixa" Foundation— and the 2010 EmprenedorXXI award.

Entrepreneur Night is an annual event held by Cecot that brings together roughly one thousand representatives from the business, financial, political and social arenas in the country. The event recognizes business progress in companies, associations, figures, media outlets and organizations that Cecot believes have stood out in developing, improving, growing or contributing to the world of finance and business.
