LeanBio won the Manuel Arroyo Award in Life Sciences
In line with the plan to invest in technology companies through its Knowledge Capital Fund, InKemia IUCT Group has acquired 9% of the capital in Catalan start-up LeanBio, which focuses on consultancy and industrial development in biotechnology.
This operation was carried out through a capital increase launched by the biotechnology firm headed up by Andreu Soldevila, which won the latest Manuel Arroyo Award in the Life Sciences for young entrepreneurs. The operation has led to the creation of a Board of Directors made up of Rafael Montilla (Director of the Advanced Biotech department at IUCT), Xavier Castells (CFO of InKemia) and founder of LeanBio, Andreu Soldevila.
The agreement gives InKemia access to a platform to advance and support industrial development of the innovations it develops in the field of industrial biotechnology. Moreover, this collaboration gives the company the capacity to offer comprehensive services from innovation through industrial implementation.
