All the Catalan companies of the health sector which need until a million Euros to start off their projects can achieve this funding in the Healthcare Investment Forum Barcelona 2010. This is the second year that the Medical Association of Barcelona (COMB), IESE and Barcelona Activa co-organize this event with companies, venture capital and private investors interested in the sector. It will take place next 11th of March.
Next 11th of March at the Forum, an advising committee formed by members of the co-organizer entities and health sector experts will choose from six to eight projects. The deadline to present projects finishes the 15th of February. In order to optimize their project pitch, during the previous week to the event, the companies will receive a coaching session from IESE experts.
At the Investment Forum, the companies will have 15 minutes to present their project before the audience formed by entrepreneurial doctors of Catalan hospitals, research parks researchers, health sector managers, pharmaceutical companies’ managers and representatives of entities like Biocat and ACC1Ó. They will have to convince them to commit funds to their idea.
How to take part in it?
All kind of companies or teams with innovative health sector business development projects (biotechnology, medical technologies, healthcares and information technologies related with this area) can present their projects to the Forum.

Dates to remember:
- 15 February 2010: deadline for entries
- 17 February 2010: pre - selection of ten projects.
- 22 February 2010: presentation of the ten projects preselected to the committee, which will select the six to eight most voted.
In the former edition, 35 companies had the opportunity to present their entrepreneurial projects to investors at the Investment Forum. Finally 12 where selected: Bcn Innova, Entec, Transmule Acits 06, Health Solutions, Biotech, Nuboo, Starlab Barcelona, Sagetis, Alma IT Systems, Omnia Molecular, Bionure and Immunovative.
