The Lilly Foundation opens 2012 call for Biomedical Research Awards worth €240,000 in prizes

The Lilly Foundation opens the 11th call for Biomedical Research Awards in its two modalities, preclinical and clinical work, with prizes worth €140,000 and €100,000, respectively. Candidates must developed their research activity in Spain and contribute predominantly to the development of biomedicine and health sciences. They can be proposed by both people and institutions in the field of science until next 15th of February 2012.
With these Awards, the Lilly Foundation looks to promote high quality biomedicine research through support and recognition to scientific careers of excellence.
The Jury is comprised by the Scientific Advisory Board of the Lilly Foundation, joined by the last two editions’ winners —Xavier Estivill, Genes and Diseases Programme coordinator of the Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG) and Jesus Egido de los Rios, head of the Nephrology and Hypertension service at the Fundación Jiménez-Díaz— and María Blasco, director of the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO), and Josep M. Gatell, head of the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona Service for Infectious Diseases.
