Companies as well as research and technological centers have now the opportunity to present their R+D+i projects, which are already finished or in their last phase of development, in the area of Information Technologies and Communications (TIC). This will happen during one of the sessions of the twelfth edition of the Global BDigital Congress, which will take place in Barcelona next May 17 to 20, 2010.

This session, which will gather managers, product managers and business agents of these fields in the audience, will help to spread innovative TIC projects in Catalonia, and also, to meet other center’s and companies’ teams working in similar or complementary issues.

The projects’ selection process will take into account, among other criteria, the project’s proximity to the Global BDigital congress and its organizer (Technological center Barcelona Digital) areas of interest. This event has already consolidated as one of the TIC sector advances and the digital society events of reference in Spain.

To take part in it is necessary to send the project basic information before April 16 at noon, following the outline which you can download here.

The Prizes BDigital for innovative ideas and projects is back

The eighth call of the Prizes BDigital to Digital Innovation has opened to innovative ideas and projects with a clear technological application and creating results for companies, technological centers and universities. You can also present innovative products and services, already developed or in phase of development, which promote the entrepreneurial exploitation of results or the technology generated in the areas of information society and digital world.

The prizes are divided into 3 categories: projects of big and medium companies, projects of small companies and entrepreneurs, projects of universities and institutions.

They are not symbolic prizes. Candidates have to argue the project degree of definition, maturity and feasibility; the project originality and applicability; the problem it solves or the need it covers; the impact and social benefit; the cooperation between companies and other agents implicated in the value chain and the contribution to the strengthen the entrepreneurial tissue.

In the former edition, two of the awards went to the biotechnological, biomedical and medical technologies sector: the Helios project of the company Intelligent Pharma, a search engine like Google to find drugs with a great number of applications (its data base contains millions of molecules and its biological activity, which offers very precise results) and the GenomPort project, an online application of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia to make, among other things, a 3D zoom of the human body until it manages to distinguish a molecule.

The prize for each of this year’s three categories winners is the free participation in the fair Visit 2010, which will take place in Munich next November 25th and 26th. The fair’s objective is to approach opportunities and trends in its business area internationally.
