The 2021 BioRegion Report will be presented on Wednesday, January 26. This document promoted by Biocat, with CataloniaBio & HealthTech and ACCIÓ, compiles the main indicators on health innovation and macroeconomic data on the healthcare and life sciences sector in Catalonia, updated in December 2021, including investment numbers. Given the current situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, the presentation will be a hybrid format: in person at the AXA auditorium (Barcelona) and live streaming.

President of the Government of Catalonia Pere Aragonès will close the event. The Report will be presented by Robert Fabregat, Biocat CEO; Jaume Amat, president of CataloniaBio & HealthTech; Silvia Ondategui, Life Sciences partner at Ernst & Young; and Natàlia Mas, CEO of ACCIÓ and director general of Industry for the Government of Catalonia. Anyone can attend but you must sign up beforehand.

Data from pandemic times

This document aims to highlight the BioRegion of Catalonia’s potential, raise awareness of the latest data on the sector and provide an in-depth analysis of its evolution over the years. It also addresses how the main health innovation indicators evolved over the past year of the pandemic, whether investment figures were higher than the previous year, and Catalonia’s place on the stock markets. This year,  AMGEN, AliraHealth, EATRIS+, EY and Pons IP collaborated on the Report.

The presentation will also feature a panel discussion in English called “Hi I’m an SME, where is my fast track?” and a debate on advanced therapies and precision medicine. There will be open spaces available for networking throughout the day. Biocat CEO Robert Fabregat will give the final conclusions and wrap up the event. For more information, check out the program.
