On Thursday, July 2, the fourth edition of the Study on investment in the life sciences and healthcare industry in Catalonia 2020 will be presented online, featuring a selection of investment indicators for the business ecosystem in 2019. The report was drafted by CataloniaBio & HealthTech and Biocat, with collaboration from EY. Biocat has participated for the first time this year, contributing its database and knowledge to provide context for the overall evolution of investment in recent years and expanding analysis of the indicators in the report.
The presentation will be streamed live from 10 am to 11:15 am, in Catalan and Spanish. Registration is open now through July 1.
The Study on investment in the life sciences and healthcare industry in Catalonia 2020 provides an exhaustive analysis of the main trends in funding and collaborations among the sector’s stakeholders throughout 2019. This fourth edition includes a comparison of the growth of investment in the BioRegion and aims to be a tool to help strategic decision-making to achieve the new challenges facing the sector.
Program
The event will begin with a general analysis of investment in the healthcare and life sciences in Catalonia by Biocat CEO Jordi Naval and CataloniaBioHT President Judit Anido. That will be followed by an international overview of the sector’s industry by Silvia Ondategui, global partner for Life Sciences at EY. The event will also feature the vision of investors in the BioRegion, commenting on the data and trends they expect to see in the post-Covid-19 world. These views will be complemented with the opinion of three entrepreneurs working in drug development, neuroelectronics and AI.
The program will finish with updated data on the investment raised in the first two quarters of 2020 and a projection for the end of the year, by the CEO of Biocat.
