An informative session will be held next 13 January on the Master in Leadership and Management in Science and Innovation (January 2011-December 2011), which is a joint program offered by the Pompeu Fabra University, the University of Barcelona and the Autonomous University of Barcelona, at the IDEC-UPF building (C/ Balmes, 132-134, Barcelona).

Leadership and management in science and innovation has become a global need to optimize the efficiency of available resources and allow for the adequate transfer of scientific breakthroughs to society, leading to improved quality of life. In any case, no one can question the fact that R&D&i is a driving force behind the new knowledge society and fosters both social and economic progress.

Under the academic direction of Josep-Eladi Baños and scientific direction of Joan Bigorra, this Master’s degree is designed for European professionals, mainly from Spain, that want to acquire the theoretical and practical training needed to work in executive, managerial or project management positions in the fields of science and innovation.

The Teaching Board is made up of top-notch professional from academia, research centers, private enterprise and bodies related to scientific promotion as Biocat, production leadership and management, and the transfer and exploitation of scientific knowledge.

This Master’s degree is highly ambitious and one of the first of its kind not only in Europe but around the world. The experience gained over the first three years the degree was offered, with more than 60 participants, has shown that it meets expectations of those who want in-depth preparation for the challenge of leading and managing the scientific and technological institutions that will transform our society over the coming century.
