Seminar on the EIT, part of the closing event for the IDEC-UPF Masters in Science Leadership and Management program
The closing event for the Masters in Science Leadership and Management program at the IDEC-UPF will be held on 12 December at La Pedrera (Casa Milà), in Barcelona.
The event will open with a speech by Miquel Perdiguer, Director of Social Work at Caixa Catalunya, followed by a presentation by the Associació de Directors i Gestors de la Ciència i la Innovació , featuring high profile individuals from the scientific arena, such as Emilio Muñoz, former secretary of the Spanish Plan Nacional de I+D; Jordi Camí, COO of the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB, in Catalan); and Joan Bigorra, Director of Innovation at Hospital Clínic.
Dr. Manell Balcells, president of the Executive Committee of Biocat, will be giving a seminar entitled The European Institute of Technology: An Opportunity for Science and Innovation in Spain (L’Institut Europeu de Tecnologia com a oportunitat per a la ciència i la innovació a Espanya). Biocat is the agency that is spearheading the campaign for Catalonia to host the European Institute of Technology (EIT) life sciences Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC), from a special office built early this year.
The event will close with a presentation by Pau Verrié, general director of IDEC-UPF.
