Sherbrooke Innopole creates international event in Quebec with top representatives from pharma and techmed industry
Renowned engineer Robert Langer of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) will give the keynote conference on 26 September.

The Sherbrooke Innopole local development center and the Canada’s Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies (Rx&D) and Canada’s Medical Technology Companies (MEDEC) business associations will hold the Sherbrooke International Life Sciences Summit 2013 (SILS 2013) on 26 and 17 September, bringing together more than 300 representatives of the biopharmaceutical and medical technology industry in Quebec and other countries.
SILS 2013 features a program of conferences with world-renowned speakers, the B2B matching space to facilitate individual meetings between companies and researchers and the Innovative Showcase with video presentations from innovative SMEs and researchers.
Noteworthy speakers include professor Robert Langer of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) —recently recognized with the National Medal of Technology and Innovation— who will give the keynote conference; Réjean Hébert, minister of Health in the Estrie region (Quebec); Jennifer Laird, head of R&D at Eli Lilly; and Wendy Fiander, director of Clinical Operations at Roche. Executives from the Canadian subsidiaries of Novartis, Sanofi, Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer are also expected to participate. The program will end with a panel discussion on successful new collaboration models, featuring NeoMed and MedTeq of Quebec, the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center from the United States and Medicon Village from Sweden.
The deadline for reduced-price registration is 30 April 2013.
