Ten Indian organizations visit Catalonia to scout for biotechnology R&D&i partners
CDTI and the Indian Department of Biotechnology, with collaboration from Biocat, will hold a networking event in Barcelona so companies and research bodies from the two countries can share ideas and interests.

Under the framework of the second call for proposals for Spain-India grants to carry out joint R&D&i projects in biotechnology, coordinated by the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) and the Indian Ministry of Science and Technology’s Department of Biotechnology (DBT), a networking event will be held with ten Indian organizations in Barcelona on 22 May to share opportunities for these two countries to cooperate.
Catalan research bodies and companies interested in collaborating with Indian partners can participate, from 9 am to 2 pm, at Casa Àsia. Representatives of the CDTI, the Indian Department of Biotechnology and Biocat will present the strengths and business opportunities available in the Indian, Spanish and Catalan biotechnology sectors. Afterwards, the grant program for technological cooperation, deadline 15 July, will be presented and there will be a round of questions.
Members of the Indian delegation will give short presentations on their R&D&i capacities and possible project ideas, including prestigious centers like the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), the Center for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (CCAMP), the National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG), the National Institute of Plant Genome Research, biopharmaceutical company Advinus Therapeutics (of the Tata group), agrobiotechnology company Ankur Seeds and Biozeen, among others.
