The Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR), one of the main biomedical research centers in Catalonia, has started up the Incomed program (Incoming Fellowships in Biomedicine) offering ten postdoctoral research fellowships over the next four years. Five fellowships will be granted in the 2012 call, each lasting two years with a possible extension if specific work must be finished. The deadline to submit applications is 3 September 2012.

This program aims to attract talented non-resident scientists that would like to develop their professional career in specific areas of biomedicine or clinical medicine at the VHIR. Candidates must hold a PhD and can’t have lived, worked or studied in Spain for more than 12 months in the three years prior to the call.

Selected researchers will receive €45,000 per year for living expenses, €6,000 per year to cover to costs of moving their family to Spain, and €8,400 for research carried out in the VHIR laboratories.

The selection criteria, rules and regulations, application form and other information are available on the VHIR website.

The VHIR, created in 1994, is part of the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital (HUVH) and of the Catalan Health Institute (ICS), and is associated with the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB).
