The 4YFN, held as part of the Mobile World Congress Barcelona, took place from March 3 to 6, 2025, with the aim of placing the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Barcelona and Catalonia at the center of the global stage. During these four days of the conference, the most innovative startups in strategic areas such as connectivity, digital health, fintech, blockchain, artificial intelligence, IoT, and others were showcased. In addition to the exhibitions, there were conferences, debates, and panels with thought leaders and entrepreneurs from around the world, making it an essential event for networking with investors and professionals from various sectors.
In 2024, the life sciences and health sector was one of the most prominent at 4YFN. It featured more than 70 Catalan companies and entities (more than in 2023), as well as an exclusive digital health program with over a hundred relevant national and international speakers.
In this edition, Biocat, ACCIÓ, and Tic Salut Social coordinated, for the second consecutive year, the Catalonia Health Innovation Ecosystem Pavilion, a prominent space where BioRegion companies could showcase their innovative solutions and establish connections with other professionals, investors, and entities in the sector. The pavilion was one of the major highlights of 4YFN 2025, solidifying its position as a dynamic meeting point full of activities that attracted the attention of institutions, corporations, and sector experts.
Catalonia Health Innovation Ecosystem Pavilion
For the second consecutive year, Biocat, in collaboration with the Fundación TIC Salut Social and various institutions, led the "Catalonia Health Innovation Ecosystem" pavilion at 4YFN 2025. This space became an international benchmark in digital health, with the participation of 16 startups and more than 20 activities related to the future challenges of the sector. With the presence of 85 companies and entities, a 20% increase from the previous year, the pavilion was a key hub for establishing international connections and facilitating institutional and corporate visits, including those from major companies like GSK España and Alexion Pharma.
Institutional visits
The space welcomed prominent institutional figures such as Josep Rull, Olga Pané, and Marta Villanueva, as well as international representatives like Christian Biever, Ambassador of Luxembourg. Additionally, collaboration with entities such as Barcelona Health Hub, Catalonia.Health, and Tech Barcelona was strengthened. The consolidation of this space as a driver of strategic connections, debate, and visibility has reinforced the commitment to digital health, an area that has become one of the pillars of the event with a dedicated program and an exclusive space in Hall 8.0 of the Mobile World Congress.
