Biocat and the international consultancy firm Alira Health are jointly promoting a free support program to help startups in the BioRegion access the market. The program offers mentoring from an experienced team of consultants that assesses the company and designs a roadmap for market access, mainly in France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and Spain.
Three companies will be selected from the applications received. Biotech, medtech, digital health, pharma or IVD companies at any stage (early or maturity) are eligible.
What does the program include?
The program includes a free package of 40 hours of services over four or five weeks, including a kick-off meeting, in-depth analysis, guidance session on requesting reimbursement, reviewing requests and additional consultations
To properly diagnose the company, Alira Health will use the “maturity scoring” method to see which stage the company is at and where it has the most weaknesses. Five-stage methodology:
- Internal documents: information is collected on the company profile and its product portfolio.
- Internal meetings: kick-off meeting with a first assessment then other meetings as needed.
- Maturity tool: focused on market access. This step analyses the commercial strategy and countries of interest, gets an overview of the disease to understand incidence, defines the value proposition and analyses possible competitors.
- Maturity scoring analysis: assesses the maturity of the project, identifies its shortfalls and establishes a market access strategy.
- Prioritizing shortcomings: identify and prioritize risks to market access. In this point, Alira Health proposes a series of activities to work on these weaknesses, laid out in a roadmap.
The program was presented at an event held during the first Barcelona Health Innovation Week, with more than 30 startups attending. Companies interested should fill out this short questionnaire to apply. The deadline is March 15. Selected companies will be notified in mid-April, according to the calendar below. Good luck!
