CRAASH Barcelona ‘Barcelona Week’ brings together renowned experts to promote healthtech solutions
For three days, from October 22 to 24, the six participating teams got to delve deeper into key issues for developing and marketing their healthcare innovations with renowned experts.
The seventh CRAASH Barcelona program successfully hosted ‘Barcelona Week’, a key event in this Biocat acceleration program organized in collaboration with CIMIT (Boston). For three days, from October 22 to 24, the six participating teams got to delve deeper into key issues for developing and marketing their healthcare innovations with renowned experts.
‘Barcelona Week’ was held in the Tech Barcelona Pier 07 Auditorium, where participants took part in a program packed with content and networking opportunities. Some of the most noteworthy speakers included: Eduardo Pérez, from Alira Health, who discussed patient engagement and its history with major diseases; Silvia Vinyes, of DKV Innolab, who explained the role insurance companies play as procurers of healthcare solutions; Immaculada Herrero and Marc Benet, from Mowoot, who shared their experience with clinical trials for medtech startups ; Josep Ballesté and Katharine D’Amico, of The Swala Institute, who gave a valuable pitch training session; Jordina Arcal, who delved deeper into customer discovery; Esther Arguelles and Fadel Hamed, from Roche Diagnostics, who explored collaborations between pharmaceutical companies and startups; and Daniel Oliver, of Capital Cell, who proposed funding strategies.
Investors Laia Pascual from Ship2B Ventures, Beatriz Gandarias of Aliath Bioventures and Antonio Limatola of Asabys Partners also took part, giving participants on-the-spot feedback on their pitches. Laura Sampietro of Hospital Clinic, Daniel Moreno of Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital and Eva Olivera of Bellvitge University Hospital explained how healthcare technology and innovation assessment units work at their hospitals.
This event provided the participating projects with the tools, contacts and knowledge they need to accelerate their path towards marketing and clinical roll-out of their healthcare innovations. CRAASH Barcelona is a high-impact program with an 87% survival rate for accelerated projects and has created over 100 new jobs in previous editions. This seventh year promises to continue this successful record and promote a new generation of innovations to transform healthcare innovation with healthtech solutions.
