ICEX, Asebio and Genoma España are promoting participation in the BioPartnering North America congress, which will be held in Vancouver (Canada) from 27 February through 1 March 2011, with a number of grants for Spanish biotechnology companies. This congress is one of the most successful in North America, with more than 490 companies and institutions and nearly 1,000 participants from Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia, who meet to explore partnering possibilities in biotechnology and the pharma industry.

The call for proposals includes grants to participate in the partnering congress and a symposium to be held at the cluster located in the province of Alberta (Edmonton), with presentations from companies and bilateral meetings, organized in collaboration with the Spanish Consulate in Barcelona.

ICEX Travel grant, managed by Asebio:

  • 1,430 euros per company for Asebio members.
  • 1,215 euros per company for other biotech companies. 
  • DEADLINE: 21 January 2011.

Genoma España Grant:

  • 1,000 euros per company (approximately US$1,320) to sign up for the partnering session. Each company must register online at www.techvision.com/bpn. For more information: José María Toro (jmtoro@gen-es.org • Tel. 91 449 12 50).
  • DEADLINE: 30 June 2011.

Registration for partnering:

  1. Discounted price: US$1,650 (through 17 January 2011).
  2. Standard: US$1,900 (from 18 January to 25 February 2011).
