Internationalize your startup
The globalization of markets over the past 30 years has made business internationalization strategies even more important, especially in the life sciences and healthcare sector, which is by definition global. At Biocat we promote international actions at the top conferences in the sector, including BIO and BES, which are privileged settings for projecting your startup internationally.
Contacts with potential partners and strategic information
The chance to meet face to face with partners from all over the world and pitch your project quickly and effectively to dozens of companies and investors looking for partners is one of the main draws of conferences like BIO-Europe Spring (BES), BIO International Convention, BIOSPAIN, 4YFN and BioEquity, among others. These events are also key for compiling strategic information on trends in the sector.
Joining the delegations Biocat organizes guarantees BioRegion stakeholders can network with each other and helps them build long term collaborations with national and international partners.
To make it easier for professionals from the BioRegion, especially startups and scaleups, to take part, and to project the ecosystem globally, Biocat works to draw the top international events to Barcelona, acting as a strategic and operational partner to organize conferences, fairs and congresses, guaranteeing preferential conditions for professionals, startups and companies from the BioRegion.

Business missions
Biocat regularly welcomes business missions from various countries interested in connecting with companies in the BioRegion, often in collaboration with consulates and other support bodies. One example are the Disruptor events, organized jointly with the ACCIÓ office in the United States. We also work to host business missions to other countries, as part of fairs or events in the sector or initiatives to open new markets.
In terms of European projects and consortia, Biocat participates in, organizes and funds visits to other international clusters for Catalan companies and organizations to encourage the exchange of knowledge among ecosystems and initiatives, take part in training activities and generate networking opportunities.
